Job Description

Worcester Academy, a day-boarding school with grades 6 thru PG, seeks a Strength and Conditioning coach to serve our community in the newly-opened Capozzoli Athletic Center. The Coach will oversee usage of Tribble Fitness center for all sports and our entire community. The strength and conditioning coach will craft training programs for our athletic teams and will support safe conditioning activity in order to improve fitness, reduce injuries and create a lifelong appreciation for health and fitness. This part-time position will be approximately 25 hours/week (in afternoons and evenings) and is an academic year (10 month) position.

This position reports to the Athletic Director.

Roles and Responsibilities

General

  • Supervise the Tribble Fitness Center during open hours of operation
  • Be knowledgeable about all equipment used in the Fitness Center
  • Develop and conduct strength and curriculum for athletic teams
  • Partner with coaches to provide pre and post season evaluation of team progress
  • Support all Worcester Academy community members in the safe usage of equipment; conduct training sessions for individuals new to the center
  • Conduct annual risk management review
  • Support the school in planning and implementing policies and guidelines for the strength and conditioning program
  • Assist in providing proposals for routine maintenance, equipment purchases, and staffing and facility needs
  • Serve as a professional development resource for coaches
  • Perform other duties as assigned



Education/Licenses

  • Minimum: Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science or related field
  • NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist
  • Up-to-date First Aid, CPR, AED certifications

Experience

  • 1-3 years experience working with high school or college-age students preferred

  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance
  • Ability to move throughout the campus during all weather conditions
  • Ability to effectively communicate in person and digitally with coaches, staff, parents, students and external contacts
  • Ability to drive Worcester Academy bus preferred
