Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist in Charge experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Lead pharmacy operations as a Pharmacist in Charge in Foxborough, Massachusetts, on a 13+ week contract-to-hire basis. This pivotal role requires strong leadership and a thorough understanding of pharmacy regulations to ensure compliance while delivering exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will oversee daily pharmacy functions and provide mentorship to staff, driving operational excellence and quality improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations.
- Manage daily operations including prescription dispensing, medication counseling, and patient care services.
- Maintain comprehensive records of prescriptions, inventory, and controlled substances.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for safe and efficient pharmacy operations.
- Lead and support pharmacy staff, conducting evaluations and providing training to promote professional growth.
- Oversee inventory management to maintain optimal medication levels and minimize waste.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, insurers, and stakeholders to resolve medication-related issues.
- Address customer inquiries and concerns with professionalism and promptness.
- Stay current on industry trends, new medications, and regulatory changes, incorporating updates into pharmacy practices.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and patient outcomes.
- Perform regular audits and safety inspections, ensuring compliance and a safe work environment.
- Monitor infection control and safety protocols consistently.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Active and clear Massachusetts Pharmacist license.
- 2-4+ years of long-term care (LTC) experience.
- Recent management experience within pharmacy, preferably in LTC settings.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, primarily day shift with possible evening coverage.
- Weekend shifts as needed.
