We're seeking two compassionate and trauma-informed Special Education Teachers for long-term substitute positions. These contract roles begin as soon as possible and are expected to last through the end of the current school year.
Openings include one position with middle grades and another with PreK–5 students, allowing educators to apply their expertise where it matters most. Desired Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education, or eligibility for certification
- Experience or strong interest in serving as a Special Education Teacher within school settings
- Demonstrated knowledge of trauma-informed educational practices
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong classroom management skills and a commitment to positive behavior supports
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students with varying abilities in accordance with IEPs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success
- Create a safe, welcoming, and engaging classroom atmosphere that embraces all learners
- Employ trauma-informed strategies to nurture student resilience and well-being
- Track and report student progress, making data-informed decisions to refine instruction
- Participate in team meetings, parent conferences, and professional development as required
