Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility)
  • Experience teaching or supporting students with moderate disabilities
  • Proficiency with developing and implementing IEPs
  • Ability to adapt general education materials to suit diverse learner needs
  • Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, targeted instruction addressing functional, academic, life, and social skills
  • Adapt curriculum and materials to meet students’ unique learning profiles
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in alignment with student goals
  • Apply positive reinforcement, structured interventions, and data-driven strategies to encourage positive behaviors and growth
  • Collaborate daily with therapists, related service providers, instructional aides, and families
  • Maintain accurate, timely records documenting student progress and interventions
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about progress, challenges, and next steps
  • Prepare students for increased independence in school and future environments
