Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility)
- Experience teaching or supporting students with moderate disabilities
- Proficiency with developing and implementing IEPs
- Ability to adapt general education materials to suit diverse learner needs
- Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, targeted instruction addressing functional, academic, life, and social skills
- Adapt curriculum and materials to meet students’ unique learning profiles
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in alignment with student goals
- Apply positive reinforcement, structured interventions, and data-driven strategies to encourage positive behaviors and growth
- Collaborate daily with therapists, related service providers, instructional aides, and families
- Maintain accurate, timely records documenting student progress and interventions
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about progress, challenges, and next steps
- Prepare students for increased independence in school and future environments
