Job DescriptionPosition Summary

The One-Year-Old Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for young toddlers. This role supports children as they build independence, language, mobility, and social-emotional skills through responsive caregiving and intentional play. This is a full-time position working four 10-hour days, offering consistency for children and a balanced schedule for staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide warm, responsive, and nurturing care to one-year-old children
  
  
• Support developmental milestones including walking, language development, self-help skills, and social interaction
  
  
• Create and maintain predictable routines for meals, naps, diapering, and transitions
  
  
• Plan and implement age-appropriate, hands-on activities aligned with developmental needs
  
  
• Encourage safe exploration, independence, and problem-solving
  
  
• Maintain a clean, safe, and engaging classroom environment
  
  
• Complete daily documentation and communicate effectively with families
  
  
• Follow all state licensing regulations, health policies, and safety procedures
  
  
• Work collaboratively with classroom partners and center leadership
  
  

Qualifications

• Experience working with infants or young toddlers preferred
  
  
• Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices
  
  
• Ability to meet all state licensing requirements
  
  
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  
  
• Patient, nurturing, dependable, and professional
