Job Title: Maintenance Coordinator

Primary Responsibility:

  1. Regular inspection of all electrical, mechanical and other equipment of the facilities.
  2. Assuring that all annual/quarterly inspections of heating systems, fire detection and suppression systems, fire extinguishers, fire department inspections, building department inspections, fuel shut off inspections, water backflow prevention inspections, elevator inspections, and site cleanliness inspections are kept up to date. Assure that originals of all inspection certificates are posted in the reception area and a file copy is provided to the Director of Children's Services.
  3. Responsible for assuring the bi-weekly insect and pest inspection are performed and documented. Bi-weekly review the insect pest management companies’ recommendation (see the insect and pest management binder) and report recommendations to the Director of Children's Services and develop a plan of action to complete repairs as needed.
  4. Responsible for keeping the playground, entrances, walkways, and parameter of the school building free from trash.
  5. Responsible for all yard maintenance.
  6. Responsible for securing all furniture in all classrooms assuring compliance with Head State Performance Standards and EEC regulations.
  7. Responsible for all minor maintenance of lighting fixtures, walls, floors, doors, windows, ceilings, equipment, and other building systems.
  8. Reporting all identified internal and external building damages to the Director of Children's Services.
  9. With authorization from the Director of Children's Services and Business Office Assistant: order all non-food related consumable items such as bathroom supplies, supplies used to feed the children, cleaning supplies, kitchen supplies, etc.
  10. Assist the kitchen staffing receiving and storing the food deliveries.
  11. Maintaining all records of the repair and maintenance works conducted in the facilities.
  12. Efficiently managing time and meeting all specified deadlines.
  13. As necessary be responsible for general cleaning of all facilities during operating hours.
  1. Responsible for supporting Community Program at 15 Tufts St and the Director of Community Program

15. All other duties as assigned by the Director of Children's Services and/or Executive Director.

Required Competencies:

  • Ability and willingness to independently manage the daily activities of the position.
  • The ability to communication effectively with supervisors, coworkers, outside vendors, and consumers of services.
  • Ability to use technology to collect, organize, store, and use data for ongoing operations.
  • The ability to use technology for routine electronic communication with supervisors, families, coworkers, and vendors.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • The ability to effectively manage many and at time competing demands.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a maintenance and a general knowledge of building systems (heat, AC, electric, plumbing, etc..).
  • Demonstrated ability to be organized, problem-solve and provide positive results.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to use hand and power tools to effect building repairs.
  • Ability to pick up items weighing fifty or more pounds.
