Job Title: Medical Director — Rural Health Clinic
Location: Woodsville, NH 03785 (Grafton County)
Employment Type: Direct Hire | Full-Time
Salary: $250,000 – $275,000/year (commensurate with experience)
Position Summary
A community hospital–affiliated Rural Health Clinic (RHC) in Woodsville, NH is seeking a Medical Director to lead its clinical team in a permanent, direct hire role. The Medical Director establishes, maintains, and enforces professional and ethical standards for the clinic’s medical staff, provides clinical consultation to and supervision of physicians and advanced practice providers, and partners with clinic leadership to ensure high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, fiscal viability, and staff satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and collaborate with nurse practitioners and physician assistants in accordance with New Hampshire scope-of-practice regulations
- Provide clinical consultation to and oversight of the clinic’s physicians and non-physician practitioners
- Review and sign NP/PA protocols annually with each provider
- Conduct regular chart reviews and communicate results and feedback to mid-level practitioners
- Review the RHC Policy and Procedure manual biennially and participate in the clinic’s program evaluation
- Help ensure the clinic meets all local, state, federal, and accreditation requirements
- Coordinate and direct patient care with clinic leadership according to adopted policies and procedures
- Collaborate with medical staff committees to improve communication, efficiency, and effectiveness of clinic services
Qualifications
- MD or DO with a current license issued or recognized by the State of New Hampshire (or ability to obtain)
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
- Current DEA registration and CPR certification
- Demonstrated leadership experience; excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task effectively
