Hours: 7:15am – 2:15pm

Pay: $51 - $58

Onward Education is partnering with a school district in Essex County, Massachusetts to find a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to support students who benefit from targeted, specialized instruction while continuing to participate in the general education setting.

\n

Position Overview

\n


\n

The Special Education Teacher provides small-group and/or individualized instruction to middle school students that are diagnosed with autism and/or intellectual delays. This is a great opportunity for a special education educator who enjoys providing targeted interventions, building strong student relationships, and collaborating with general education teachers to help students succeed.

\n


\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

    \n
  • Work with students individually or in small groups based on their specific needs
  • \n

  • Provide targeted instruction in areas such as reading, writing, math, executive functioning, and social skills
  • \n

  • Reinforce and build skills that students may be struggling with in the general education classroom
  • \n

  • Develop and implement instruction aligned with students' IEP goals
  • \n

  • Monitor student progress and adjust instruction and interventions as needed
  • \n

  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and school staff
  • \n

  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of student goals and services
  • \n

  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress-monitoring data
  • \n

  • Support students in becoming more independent and successful within the general education environment
  • \n

Ideal Candidate

  • Licensed or certified in Special Education
  • \n

  • Experienced working with students with disabilities
  • \n

  • Comfortable providing both individual and small-group instruction
  • \n

  • Knowledgeable about IEPs, accommodations, and specialized instruction
  • \n

  • Collaborative and communicative with school teams
  • \n

  • Patient, compassionate, and student-centered
  • \n

  • Committed to helping students build academic skills and independence
  • \n
