SUMMARY
This Part-Time Grounds Maintenance position is responsible for performing parks maintenance-related functions and work on municipal and school properties. The person in this position carries out assignments and completes tasks within the organizational structure of the Recreation & Parks Department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Mow and trim municipal and school grounds under the direction of the Recreation & Park’s Foreman.
- Operate mowing, trimming, and air-blowing equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Perform manual tasks, including cleaning equipment, weeding plant beds, painting, cutting brush, and other ground maintenance-related functions as needed.
- Perform additional responsibilities, including trash pick-up; cleaning, deodorizing, and sanitizing park restrooms: basins, stools, urinals; graffiti removal; and all other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrate self-motivation, initiative, sound judgment, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment with the public and/or other town employees.
- Perform duties, responsibilities, and activities that may change at any time with or without notice.
PREFERRED BACKGROUND
Any combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge and experience to perform the work.
