Clinical Trials Pharmacist - Non-Oncology

Job Description\n

We are seeking a Clinical Trials Pharmacist to join our Clinical Trials Pharmacy (CTP) team. This role involves providing pharmaceutical services to support research groups engaged in human subject research. The CTP is committed to delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care while minimizing potential risks associated with investigational drug trials.

Key Responsibilities\n

  • Dispense research medications to participants enrolled in clinical trials.
  • \n

  • Ensure medication orders adhere to approved protocols.
  • \n

  • Review protocol documents and develop dispensing instructions.
  • \n

  • Oversee the safe handling and preparation of investigational sterile and non-sterile medications.
  • \n

  • Supervise technician activities and conduct quality control checks.
  • \n

  • Provide drug information to healthcare professionals.
  • \n

  • Participate in sponsor monitoring visits and audits.
  • \n

  • Review new protocols and amendments for drug safety and feasibility.
  • \n

  • Promote a culture of safety and compliance with established departmental practices.
  • \n

  • Act as a liaison between the CTP and compounding, as well as other areas within the pharmacy department.
  • \n

  • Review patient medications for appropriateness and potential drug interactions.
  • \n

  • Comply with state and federal laws pertaining to pharmacy and investigational drug use.
  • \n

Work Schedule\n

This position requires availability Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with potential for earlier starts or later finishes on occasion, but not exceeding 5:30 PM. Weekend work and major holiday coverage are not required, although minor holiday coverage may be necessary.

Qualifications\n

    \n
  • Current Massachusetts Pharmacist License in good standing is required.
  • \n

  • Experience in clinical trials or a similar pharmacy setting preferred.
  • \n

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and compliance.
  • \n

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • \n
