Key qualifications:
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional or in a school support role is preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, specialists, and administrative staff
- Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills for interacting with students of varying abilities
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Adaptability and problem-solving skills in dynamic classroom settings
- Background check clearance required prior to employment
Primary responsibilities:
- Provide classroom support to teachers, assisting with instruction and activities for students
- Offer one-on-one or small group support to students who need additional help
- Adapt lesson materials and instructional strategies to accommodate diverse learning needs
- Supervise students during classroom, lunch, recess, or field trip activities as assigned
- Encourage positive behaviors, helping to implement behavioral and academic interventions
- Maintain documentation of student progress and activities as directed
