Job # 1591 - Tuesday-Saturday 12:00pm-8:00pm, 40 hours/week

Locations: the lead DSP will potentially work in Attleboro, Rehoboth, Swansea and Dighton MA areas within multiple residential homes.

General Description

Lead DSP provides a range of assistance that is appropriate and necessary for the supported individual’s health and well-being. The Lead DSP support allows the supported individual to accomplish activities of daily living including but not limited to eating, toileting, dressing, bathing, transferring and ambulation. The Lead DSP is a hybrid position, with 32 hours in the staffing ratio and 8 hours of administrative time. This role incorporates Behavioral Supports, Clinical Data Tracking, implementing PBS strategies and DSP work. This is a DSP position with elevated Clinical Responsibilities.

Lead DSP report directly to and receive weekly and/or as needed support and supervision from the Clinical Director.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma required
  • At least 18 years of age
  • MAP certification preferred, required within first 90 days of employment
  • First Aid/CPR certification
  • Completion of TB screening and testing
  • Completion of Physical including transportation/transfer addendum
  • Safe driving record, current driver’s license, personal vehicle, and current motor vehicle liability insurance required, ability to successfully pass criminal background checks
  • 2 years experience working with PBS or de-escalation strategies.

Job Responsibilities

The position includes the following responsibilities. Responsibilities are based upon the needs of the individual supported and may vary depending on their unique needs and goals

● Communicates effectively with the individual to whom they provide services

including his or her family

● Provides assistance with activities of daily living including personal care,

nutrition, and supporting individuals on medical appointments.

● Supports individuals in increasing and/or maintaining their everyday

independence within their homes and communities by assisting with

household duties including cooking, laundry and shopping

● Provides transportation as needed

● Maintains open communication and works with all team members

● Completes needed documentation that may include weekly time sheet, daily

progress notes, incident reports, medical and dental forms, etc., in a timely

manner

● Provides reliable and appropriate service to individuals and families

● Maintains necessary certifications (CPR, First Aid, Services/Supports, etc.) and completes all required trainings in a timely manner in accordance with training requirements

● Participates in routine established for support and supervision with direct

supervisor

● Provides supports/services as directed by families who have established supports

for their family member

● Any other job related duties as assigned by site managers and Clinical Director

● Collect and Compile Behavior Data, MTP tracking and report to Prescriber and Clinician and Management Team.
