It’s 6:00 a.m. on N Montello Street in Brockton. The plant hums to life and you’re the one who keeps it running. As the go-to Mechanic for complex production equipment, you’ll safeguard uptime through hands-on PMs, quick-turn repairs, and smart upgrades. You’ll report directly to the Plant Manager and partner closely with maintenance teammates, the product team, and the plant engineer.

About the Opportunity

Kelly is hiring on behalf of a respected manufacturing client at 1001 N Montello St, Brockton, MA 02301. This is a temporary-to-hire role with clear pathways to long-term stability.

Schedule & Pay

  • Employment Type: Temporary-to-hire
  • Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.; Friday, 6:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
  • Pay Rate: $26–$32 per hour, depending on experience

A Day in the Life

  • Start with preventive maintenance rounds—inspect, test, and service critical machines to keep production on track.
  • Deep-clean and reassemble components to factory standards; lubricate moving parts for optimum performance.
  • Spot issues before they escalate—document wear, damage, or failures and initiate parts orders.
  • Diagnose unexpected breakdowns, execute fast, high-quality repairs, and verify results with test runs.
  • Collaborate with the product manager and plant engineer on equipment changes needed for new product introductions.
  • Modify equipment safely and effectively; perform additional iterations until output meets specs.
  • Maintain an orderly shop—stock parts, organize tools, and keep accurate maintenance records and reports.
  • Coordinate with managers to schedule PMs that minimize downtime.
  • Support ongoing facility maintenance as needed in a manufacturing environment.

What You Bring

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with a knack for troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
  • Clear communicator; equally effective working solo or with a team.
  • Detail-focused, organized, and steady under pressure in a fast-paced setting.

Education & Experience

  • Vocational or community college coursework in a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience) preferred.
  • Comfort collaborating with the maintenance department, Plant Manager, and an electrician to complete work.

Physical Realities

  • Extended periods of standing and walking.
  • Regular bending, stretching, pushing, and pulling to access, clean, and service machinery.
  • Ability to visually inspect equipment to verify condition and performance.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
