Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid Special Education Teaching certification recognized in Vermont
  • Proven experience working as a Special Education Teacher, preferably with middle grades
  • Strong background supporting students with emotional and behavioral challenges
  • Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Flexibility and compassion in adapting instructional strategies to meet individual student needs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver engaging lessons tailored to students in a middle grades ED classroom
  • Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages growth and personal development
  • Monitor student progress and adapt educational strategies as needed
  • Collaborate closely with fellow teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student success
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and document student achievement
  • Participate actively in IEP meetings and contribute valuable insights to student planning
  • Apply effective behavioral interventions and supports to aid student learning and emotional regulation
