Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teaching certification recognized in Vermont
- Proven experience working as a Special Education Teacher, preferably with middle grades
- Strong background supporting students with emotional and behavioral challenges
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Flexibility and compassion in adapting instructional strategies to meet individual student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging lessons tailored to students in a middle grades ED classroom
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages growth and personal development
- Monitor student progress and adapt educational strategies as needed
- Collaborate closely with fellow teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student success
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and document student achievement
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and contribute valuable insights to student planning
- Apply effective behavioral interventions and supports to aid student learning and emotional regulation
