Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A school in Merrimack, NH is seeking a dedicated Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing to provide specialized instruction and support to students with hearing impairments. This full-time contract position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the academic and social development of children with unique communication needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and group instruction tailored to the specific needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with state standards and address communication, language, and academic goals
  • Collaborate with speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and general education teachers to support student progress
  • Conduct assessments to monitor student growth and adjust instructional strategies accordingly

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Certified Teacher for the Deaf / Hard of Hearing or equivalent licensure
  • Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in educational settings
  • Knowledge of communication methods such as American Sign Language (ASL), spoken language, and auditory-verbal techniques
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams
