Step into a rewarding role supporting the health and well-being of young students as a campus nurse for PreK through 2nd grade. This full-time, onsite opportunity is ideal for school nursing professionals who are dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of children and thrive in an educational environment.
This contract position runs from August 17, 2026, to June 18, 2027, with a consistent Monday-Friday schedule from 8 AM to 4 PM. Candidates must be comfortable working exclusively onsite and able to complete all scheduled hours without accommodation.
Qualifications:
- Active Massachusetts RN or LPN license required
- Demonstrated experience working in a school-based nursing setting
- Previous work with early childhood and primary grade students strongly preferred
- Reliable transportation to and from the site
- Ability to pass fingerprinting and CORI background checks
- Flexibility and professionalism in responding to health needs as they arise
- Must be able to attend a virtual interview via Zoom
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct nursing care to students, addressing acute injuries, illnesses, and ongoing medical needs
- Administer medications, manage health records, and develop care plans in coordination with families and staff
- Provide age-appropriate health education throughout the school community
- Monitor for and respond to health issues as mandated by school protocols
- Maintain a safe, confidential, and supportive environment for students
