School Nurse (Pre-K - Grade 8)
Job Type: Full-time
Location: Newton, MA
Position Overview
An independent, coeducational school in Newton Centre, Massachusetts is seeking a School Nurse to support students from 15 months through Grade 8. The School Nurse will develop, implement, coordinate, and document school health care systems and protocols in compliance with Massachusetts laws and regulations.
The School Nurse will work closely with the administrative team and serve as a health resource for the entire school community.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct student health screenings.

Dispense medications in accordance with school policies and applicable regulations.

Provide routine and emergency medical care.

Communicate with parents, teachers, administrators, and other staff regarding student health needs.

Maintain accurate health records and documentation.

Document student immunizations, allergies, medications, and other relevant health information.

Develop individualized health care plans for students with specific medical needs.

Collaborate with school administrators to develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; Master's degree preferred.

Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license.

Massachusetts DESE Certification as a School Nurse, or ability to obtain certification.

Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification.

Minimum of 3 years of full-time nursing experience, preferably with experience in:

Pediatrics

School nursing

Camp nursing

Community nursing

· Knowledge and understanding of child development from 15 months through 14 years.
· Ability to work effectively with students, families, faculty, staff, and administrators.
· Letter of interest/cover letter, resume, and at least two professional references required for consideration.
