Job Title: Registered Nurse – GI Lab / Endoscopy (Travel Assignment)
Location: Hyannis, Massachusetts
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule:
- Day Shift
- Rotating Start Times: 07:00 AM – 3:30 PM / 08:30 AM – 5:00 PM / 09:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- 40 Hours per Week
- Includes weeknight, weekend, and holiday call rotation
Position Overview
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a 13-week assignment in a GI Lab / Endoscopy unit within an acute care hospital setting. This role focuses on delivering safe and effective peri-procedural nursing care for patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic gastrointestinal procedures.
The ideal candidate will bring strong endoscopy experience, proficiency in sedation monitoring, and the ability to work in a fast-paced procedural environment alongside a multidisciplinary clinical team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care across pre-, intra-, and post-procedure phases
- Assist physicians during endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopy, biopsy, polypectomy, PEG placement, dilation, banding, and cautery
- Administer medications including moderate sedation per protocol
- Monitor vital signs, sedation levels, and patient stability throughout procedures
- Perform pre- and post-procedure patient assessments
- Support patient positioning and procedural setup
- Identify and respond to complications during and after procedures
- Provide patient and family education related to procedures and recovery
- Conduct post-procedure follow-up calls as required
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and procedural documentation
- Follow infection control, sedation safety, and hospital protocols
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and compliance standards
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
- Minimum 2–3 years of recent Endoscopy/GI Lab experience (within 5 years)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Moderate Sedation certification required
- Completion of pharmacology and basic arrhythmia requirements
- Strong clinical judgment and procedural nursing skills
- Ability to work in a high-acuity procedural environment
