Apprentice Carpenter - Responsibilities

• Actively practice safety standards
• More in-depth knowledge of tools and construction terminology & materials
• Read and understand plans
• Basic knowledge of flashing, windows & doors, gable returns, deck ledgers, interior trim
• Ability to use a skill saw
• Know how to set up staging
• Cutting bevels
• Install headers
• Make a layout
• Interested in furthering knowledge and skill set

Journeyman Carpenter – Responsibilities

• Reading and interpreting building plans
• Must be able to complete work abiding by national, state, and local codes, including safety regulations
• Constructing and installing wooden structures including but not limited to framework, stairways, rafters, doors, windows, trim, railings, and built-ins
• Must be able to accurately measure and cut materials appropriately
• Collaborate with team members to ensure that the project is running smoothly
• Ability to notify Construction Superintendent, Foreman, and Project Manager of any issues that may arise

Foreman – Responsibilities

• Coordinating daily tasks according to priorities and plans, making changes when necessary due to weather, supply, delivery, and personnel
  • Delegating individual responsibilities and projects to crew members and contractors
  • Managing and mentoring employees and contractors
  • Providing adequate resources to meet project schedules, laws, regulations, best practices, and safety needs
  • Emphasizing safe use of tools, machinery and equipment while providing training on safety gear, helmets, and procedures

Requirements:

• Prior Experience:
  • Foreman: 5 plus years
  • Journeyman: 2-4 years
• A valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation
• Capable of working long hours in harsh weather conditions
• OSHA
  • Foreman: OSHA10, OSHA30. and Construction Supervisor License
  • Journeyman: OSHA 10
• Journeyman and Foreman Candidates:
  • Own a full set of tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good math and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Work independently without much instruction

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 80 pounds
• Physically fit and able to perform various tasks that include standing, climbing, lifting, walking, reaching, crawling, etc.
