Job Title: General Maintenance Worker

Reports To: Maintenance Manager

Job Summary

The General Building Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of building systems, equipment, and grounds. This role ensures that facilities remain safe, functional, and well-maintained by addressing maintenance issues promptly and performing preventative maintenance tasks. This position will require some travel to R.I. at times. Approximately 85% of time based in NH and 15% of time based in RI. Duties assigned by Supervisor. Full Time M-F

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with routine building maintenance including minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC tasks.
  • Repair or replace damaged fixtures such as doors, locks, lighting, ceiling tiles, flooring, and windows
  • Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner
  • Perform preventative maintenance on building equipment and systems
  • Maintain outdoor areas; basic landscaping, snow removal, and debris cleanup as needed
  • Trash Removal Duties – all areas daily
  • Change out Recycle Bins as needed
  • Clean bathrooms and break areas daily
  • Assist with moving furniture, setting up rooms, and supporting facility events or changes
  • Follow safety procedures and ensure compliance with building codes and regulations
  • Assist with other various duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 1–3 years of general maintenance, facilities, or building repair experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general repair techniques
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Approved to work in the US

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb ladders for extended periods.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
