\n Position Overview
\n Athol Hospital is seeking a Radiologic Technologist with CT experience for a 13-week contract assignment. The technologist will perform CT and general radiologic procedures while ensuring high-quality diagnostic images, patient safety, accurate documentation, and compliance with applicable standards.
\n Responsibilities
\n Perform CT and general diagnostic radiology examinations according to physician orders and established protocols.
\n Produce high-quality images with accurate patient demographics, positioning, image density, contrast, markers, and reconstructions.
\n Perform daily CT quality assurance (QA) and maintain required documentation.
\n Operate diagnostic, fluoroscopic, portable, and surgical X-ray equipment.
\n Assess patients and select appropriate exposure techniques based on the examination and patient condition.
\n Apply proper radiation safety practices, including collimation and protective devices.
\n Review physician orders and clinical history to ensure the correct examination is performed.
\n Operate the hospital PACS system and ensure accurate transmission of CT and radiology images.
\n Merge, move, and retrieve studies between servers as needed.
\n Accurately enter orders and charges into the Meditech system.
\n Maintain patient safety and provide appropriate accommodations for pediatric, adult, and elderly patients.
\n Follow all hospital policies regarding patient safety, fall prevention, radiation protection, and infection/safety procedures.
\n Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare team members.
\n Required Qualifications
\n Active Massachusetts Radiologic Technology License – Required
\n BLS/BCLS – Required
\n ARRT(RT) – Required/Preferred per facility
\n ARRT(CT) – Required
\n Basic computer skills
\n Strong verbal and written communication skills
\n Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
\n Minimum experience: Less than 1 year accepted
\n Associate’s Degree: Preferred, but not required
\n Preferred Qualifications
\n Advanced CT registration/certification
\n Mammography experience or registration
\n Hospital-based diagnostic imaging experience
\n Experience with Meditech and PACS
\n
