We are seeking an experienced Recertification Specialist to join our team and play a critical role in maintaining compliance with affordable housing regulations while supporting residents throughout the recertification process.
This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong affordable housing experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can effectively manage a high-volume recertification portfolio.
Key Responsibilities

Manage annual and interim recertifications from start to finish, ensuring accuracy and timely completion

Process income, asset, employment, and third-party verifications in accordance with program requirements

Maintain compliance with LIHTC, HUD, Section 8, and other affordable housing regulations

Communicate with residents regarding required documentation, deadlines, and program requirements

Maintain organized resident and applicant files to ensure audit and inspection readiness

Monitor recertification schedules, lease renewals, vacancies, and compliance deadlines

Assist with applicant processing, waitlist management, and occupancy tracking as needed
-
Support resident relations by responding to questions and providing exceptional customer service

Assist with rent collection activities, notices, and general administrative responsibilities

Partner closely with Property Managers, Occupancy Specialists, and site teams to ensure smooth community operations

Prepare for and support agency audits, compliance reviews, and file inspections
Qualifications
-
Affordable housing experience required
-
Recertification experience required
-
Strong knowledge of LIHTC, HUD, Section 8, and affordable housing compliance regulations preferred
-
COS, HCCP, or other affordable housing certifications are a plus
-
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Excellent communication and customer service abilities

Experience with Yardi, OneSite, or similar property management software preferred

Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment

Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of accuracy
