Factory Gear Pro Shop is growing, and we’re looking for Pro Shop Associates to join our team in Salem, NH.
\n
No hockey retail experience? No problem. We’ll train the right person.
\n
We’re looking for friendly, reliable people with a great attitude who are willing to learn and aren’t afraid to jump in and help when the rink gets busy.
About Factory Gear\n
Factory Gear is part of Power Play Enterprise and serves local hockey players, families, teams, leagues, and organizations.
\n
Our pro shop offers hockey equipment, apparel, accessories, custom uniforms, embroidery, team merchandise, and other hockey gear.
\n
But we’re more than just a retail store.
\n
Our team also works behind the scenes producing custom jerseys and apparel, fulfilling team orders, managing online team stores, and supporting hockey organizations throughout the area.
\n
That means you’ll have the opportunity to learn skills that go well beyond a typical retail job.
What You’ll Do\n
As a Pro Shop Associate, you’ll work directly with players, parents, coaches, and teams while helping keep the shop running smoothly.
\n
Your responsibilities may include:
\n

- Greet customers and provide friendly, helpful service.
- Ring up sales and accurately handle transactions.
- Sharpen Skates on the state-of-the-art Sparx machines and Blademaster.
- Help players, parents, and coaches find hockey gear, apparel, uniforms, and accessories.
- Learn about hockey equipment, sizing, fit, and product options so you can make helpful recommendations.
- Keep the pro shop stocked, clean, organized, and ready for customers.
- Restock merchandise and help maintain product displays.
- Assist with custom team and uniform orders.
- Help manage and update Shopify team stores and online orders.
- Answer basic phone and in-store customer questions.
- Assist with order fulfillment, packaging, and customer pickups.
- Learn to use heat presses for jerseys, uniforms, and custom apparel.
- Learn the basics of embroidery and other apparel customization processes.
- Assist with skate sharpening and other pro shop services once trained.
- Help wherever needed during busy practices, games, and tournament weekends.

What We’re Looking For\n
No previous pro shop or hockey retail experience is required.
\n
We’re looking for someone who is:
\n

- Friendly, dependable, and willing to learn.
- Comfortable talking with customers of all ages.
- Able to work well as part of a team.
- Organized and attentive to details.
- Comfortable working in a busy ice rink environment.
- Able to stand and move around during shifts.
- Comfortable using computers, tablets, and point-of-sale systems, or willing to learn.
- Interested in hockey, sports, retail, apparel, or custom gear.
- Available to work evenings and weekends, including busy tournament and practice hours.

Knowledge of hockey equipment is a plus, but we’ll help you learn what you need to know.
\n
Previous retail, customer service, hockey, sports, embroidery, or apparel experience is also a plus, but not required.
