Step into a rewarding role making a positive impact as a virtual Special Education teacher supporting a 5th grade student. This contract opportunity offers the chance to deliver meaningful instruction and guidance to a young learner while collaborating with a dedicated team.
You will provide specially designed instruction (SDI) on a 1:1 basis to a student as the district finalizes an out-of-district placement. Your expertise will support the student for an estimated period of a few weeks to a month, though flexibility is required as circumstances may change. The role is structured for 2 hours per week of direct services; additional indirect time can be provided for planning, consultation, and documentation.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Hold current certification in Special Education
- Previous experience delivering SDI to elementary-level students
- Comfort and proficiency with remote/virtual instructional platforms
- Ability to adapt instruction to individual needs and service plans
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with caregivers and district staff
- Commitment to confidentiality and compliance with educational standards
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and tailored instruction virtually to meet Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals
- Collaborate with school personnel and the student’s support network
- Track student progress and provide documentation as required
- Maintain flexible and responsive scheduling to accommodate the student’s needs
- Support the successful transition during the district placement process
