Registered Nurse – Emergency Department, travel assignment in Middlebury, Vermont. Start date: 09/28/2026. Duration: 16 weeks. Weekly pay: $2,547–$2,700. Shift: 3×12 Night. This is a hospital-based travel assignment in a small ED setting with 10–14 beds, staffed 24/7 by RNs, an ED tech, a charge nurse, and on-call leadership. Telemedicine and telestroke support are part of the department workflow. All travel candidates should be prepared for weekend work and flexible holiday scheduling.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to ED patients across a wide acuity range, including triage and ongoing assessment
- Perform IV access, monitor vital signs, administer medications and IV therapies, and initiate infusions per physician orders
- Conduct EKGs, interpret basic rhythms, and respond to evolving patient conditions promptly
- Document in the electronic medical record (Epic) and communicate patient status to the care team
- Collaborate with ED physicians, mid-level providers, nurses, and ancillary staff; assist with transports and admissions when needed
- Adhere to department protocols, safety standards, and infection control practices; participate in patient and family education
Requirements
- Active RN license (state to be determined per assignment)
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC (or equivalency), TNCC (or proof of class with date applied in packet), NIHSS (required prior to start); NRP preferred
- Experience: minimum 2 years of clinical ED experience; at least 1 prior travel assignment completed; charge experience preferred
- EMR: EPIC experience within the past 2 years required
- Ability to work in an ED setting with high-acuity patients; charges and leadership communication expected; ability to participate in a defined unit rotation
- Scheduling requirements: acceptance of night shifts and holiday coverage; no mandatory floating to other units per unit policy
- Transportation: reliable transportation required; public transit is not available in the area
