Job Details
Primary Functions
Research contract drawings and suggest RFIs
Produce coordination, shop, and fabrication drawings
Manage assigned project scope directly
Use clash detection software for coordination
Support coordination meetings and fulfill detailer duties
Layout & Design
Plan complex piping systems (mechanical rooms, hangers, pads, sleeves, connections, isometrics, anchors)
Coordinate complete systems from underground to roof
Solve construction coordination issues
Interpret multi-level mechanical rooms and distribution systems
Coordinate with architectural/structural layouts for fixture placement
Coordination & Collaboration
Attend project coordination meetings
Work with other trades on project coordination/layout
Review equipment submittals for size, quantity, and arrangement
Maintain project communication with construction team
Documentation & Administration
Prepare and maintain drawing files
Update coordination and contract documents
Initiate RFIs with supporting documentation
Create accurate fabrication drawings for piping/plumbing systems
Prepare complete bills of materials
Standards & Accountability
Interpret contract requirements with minimal supervision
Ensure code compliance (plumbing, process, power piping)
Follow company CAD standards
Create solutions for coordination issues
Take accountability for finished products in challenging situations
Suggest value engineering opportunities
Assist detailers and trainees
