Key Responsibilities
- Occupational therapy needs are evaluated according to both organizational and professional standards.
- Treatment plans demonstrate an understanding of the patient's age and circumstances, including their discharge plan.
- Plans are updated in response to the patient’s progress towards established goals.
- Documentation is thorough, prompt, and follows facility and practice regulations.
- Therapy and healthcare students receive orientation, training, and mentoring to meet performance expectations.
- Performance improvement opportunities are recognized and implemented as appropriate to support best practices.
- Other departmental, organizational, or network activities are carried out as outlined by established objectives

Qualifications and Experience
Education/DegreeRequired
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
- Experience in pediatric outpatient setting and/or completing your level 2 fieldwork in an outpatient pediatric setting.
LicensureRequired
- Licensed (and in good standing) as an occupational therapist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Skills (Specific learned activity gained through training (e.g. computer skills, keyboarding, presentation, CPR, ACLS, etc.)Required
- BLS required.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the English language.
- Work independently, be self-directed and contribute as a member of a team.
- Basic skills in math and computer science.
- Appropriate knowledge occupational therapy evaluation and treatment techniques to manage the pediatric population.
- Effective problem-solving skills for occupational therapy evaluation, interpretation, treatment planning and execution taking into consideration patient’s age, psychosocial, cultural and religious background.
- Basic skills in teaching other and self-assessment of learning needs, strengths, and professional goals.
- Safely execute all job responsibilities without risking injury to self or patients. Ability to assess and interact with patients and families using the theories of human growth and development, family systems, and cultural background.
- Maintain variable work schedule depending on facility needs to provide patient care (evening, holidays, and travel).
- Computer proficiency required. Microsoft office applications preferred with ability to learn new software.
- High level of service delivery. Demonstrate initiative with ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and adapt to changing situations.

- Highly developed communications and interpersonal skills, working with diverse population.
- Anticipates challenges and develops and implements strategies for addressing them.
- Attention to detail.
