Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting young learners in a dynamic school environment near Dorchester, MA. This full-time, onsite position is dedicated to providing physical therapy services primarily to preschoolers, with some elementary students as well. The contract is for 30 hours per week, starting as soon as possible and tentatively running through June 15, 2027. While the district is seeking a permanent placement, this role offers the potential for extension if the position is not filled internally.
Ideal candidates are credentialed physical therapists who thrive in a collaborative, child-centered educational setting. Your expertise will help promote student independence, mobility, and access to the school curriculum.
Qualified applicants bring:
- Active PT license or certification in Massachusetts (MA)
- Previous experience providing physical therapy in a school setting
- Availability to work onsite for the full duration of the contract
- Ability to work with preschool and elementary student populations
- Completion of CORI and fingerprint background checks as required
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to evidence-based, student-focused interventions
In this role, you will:
- Provide individualized and group physical therapy services in accordance with IEPs
- Conduct assessments and document progress
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and related service providers to support student success
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary teams
- Maintain timely and accurate records
- Empower young learners to achieve greater physical independence
