Job DescriptionDepartment Overview:

The Infusion and Day Treatment Program is a dedicated outpatient service designed to cater to patients of all ages, from infants to adults. This program provides an alternative to inpatient care for those needing infusion therapies and advanced medical day treatments. Our focus is on creating a safe, nurturing, and family-oriented atmosphere that promotes lasting connections between patients, their families, and our committed healthcare professionals.

Typical Therapies Offered:

• Transfusions of blood and blood products
• Innovative therapies, complex infusion treatments, and gene therapies
• Replacement of metabolic enzymes
• Food and drug allergy testing and desensitization
• Management of complications related to outpatient PICC lines
• Endocrine diagnostic testing
• Outpatient program for newly diagnosed diabetes
• Programs for managing sickle cell fever and pain in an outpatient setting

Primary Duties:

• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide outstanding patient care
• Administer infusions, deliver day treatments, and offer clinical assistance in an outpatient environment
• Maintain a work schedule of 36 hours per week, including a combination of 8, 10, and 12-hour shifts, with rotating days/evenings and every third weekend

Essential Qualifications Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing

Experience:

• At least 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN); pediatric experience is preferred
• Experience with infusion therapies and IV skills is advantageous

Licensure/Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
