This position serves a full-time role in an 18-22 year-old Transition Program, running from ASAP through June 16, 2027. The program’s curriculum emphasizes functional and life skills, vocational training, community integration, and social skill development. You’ll work collaboratively with three dedicated paraprofessionals to address a diverse range of learning needs and foster real-world growth for each student.
Your background should include:
- Current Massachusetts Special Education Teaching Certification
- Experience working with transition-aged students (18-22 years old) is preferred
- Strong ability to adapt teaching strategies to diverse abilities
- Dedication to cultivating independence, workplace readiness, and community engagement
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing individualized education and transition plans
- Delivering engaging lessons focused on life skills, job readiness, and community involvement
- Collaborating with paraprofessionals to support varied student needs
- Monitoring progress and adjusting instruction as needed
- Facilitating social skill-building activities and community outings
- Communicating regularly with families and support teams
