As the first Junior Achievement location, established in 1919, Junior Achievement has reached thousands of students annually with relevant, hands-on learning experiences throughout Franklin, Hampshire, Hampden, and Berkshire Counties, part of Worcester County, and the state of Vermont. Junior Achievement programs begin at the elementary school level, teaching children how to contribute to the world around them. They continue through college, focusing on the key content areas of financial literacy, entrepreneurship, work readiness, and career exploration.

Position Overview: The Education Program Director will oversee traditional, experiential, and entrepreneurial learning experiences to align with Junior Achievement's mission and objectives. This position will have particular emphasis on stakeholder engagement, especially the coordination of volunteer and educational partners, including recruiting, training, support, and recognition. The Education Program Director manages administrative programming procedures to uphold quality standards for the organization, assures adherence to program models, and evaluates impact to ensure the delivery of high-quality educational experiences.

  • Oversee various learning experiences, including classroom and entrepreneurial programs.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders, board members, and the community.
  • Recruit, train, and support volunteers for effective program execution.
  • Maintain program quality and partner retention through effective communication.
  • Manage records and evaluations and prepare necessary reports.
  • Coordinate program materials and event logistics.
  • Organize events like the Stock Market Challenge and Pitch Camps.
  • Develop a volunteer recognition program.
  • Support committees in collaboration with leadership.
  • Stay informed on best practices and apply them for program enhancement.
  • Monitor and assess program outcomes for continuous improvement.
  • Prepare budgets and annual planning calendars.
  • Supervise interns and part-time staff as needed.



  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Experience in program and budget management.
  • Strong skills in communication and presentation.
  • Familiarity with the education sector and youth organizations is preferred.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and relationships.
  • Motivated, self-starter dedicated to customer service and networking.
