We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Executive Director for The Pine Haven Boys’ Center in Allenstown, New Hampshire. We are an approved private special education placement recognized by the New Hampshire Department of Education. Our center fosters a small, collaborative, and caring community of staff who support one another in providing excellent services to every student we serve. The ideal candidates for this position will have demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience, as well as a proven track record of managing a collaborative model that integrates residential, therapeutic, and school-based services for children and youth on our campus.
At Pine Haven Boys' Center, we specialize in helping boys aged 6–14 thrive academically, emotionally, and socially. As an intensive therapeutic clinical school and residential program, we provide a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where up to 23 young boys receive individualized support tailored to their unique needs. This nurturing environment extends to our staff, fostering a sense of warmth and care in the workplace.

PositionOverview:
The Executive Director of Pine Haven Boys' Center plays a pivotal role in shaping the lives of the boys we serve. Responsible for providing visionary leadership, overseeing all aspects of the school's operations, and driving its strategic direction, the Executive Director's primary focus is on ensuring the delivery of high-quality education and therapeutic support within a safe and supportive environment for our students. This is
a role that values teamwork and collective effort, where every member's contribution is crucial to our success. This position reports to the Board of Directors through the leadership of the Board President.
Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategic Vision:
● Develop and implement strategic plans to advance the Center's mission and objectives.
● Provide visionary leadership that aligns with the Center's values and goals.
● Foster a positive and inclusive culture among staff, students, and stakeholders.
Operations Management:
● Collaborate with the Director of Business Operations to oversee
day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient and effective functioning of the Center.
● Manage budgeting, financial planning, and resource allocation in conjunction with the Director of Business Operations.
● Establish and maintain policies and procedures to uphold best practices, subject to prior approval from the Board of Directors.
● Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements and the timely filing of all necessary paperwork.
● Develop and maintain a capital replacement and improvement plan to address needs for residential, educational, and therapeutic facilities, equipment, technology, and vehicles.
Residential Environment:
● Work with the Cottage Director and cottage staff to ensure the safe and healthy operation of the cottage, addressing the residential needs of the students.
Academic Excellence:
● Collaborate with the principal and academic staff to develop and maintain a rigorous and supportive academic curriculum that meets student needs.
● Monitor and assess educational programs to ensure alignment with state standards and educational best practices.
Therapeutic Programming:
● Collaborate closely with the Clinical Director and clinical staff to oversee the implementation of therapeutic interventions tailored to individual student needs.
● Support the development and implementation of behavioral and emotional support plans.
Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Building:
● Cultivate strong relationships with parents, guardians, community partners, students, and relevant stakeholders.
● Represent the school at meetings, conferences, and events to promote the institution's mission and values.
● Develop and maintain strong connections with local, state, and federal agencies.
● Lead and support fundraising activities.
Team Leadership and Development:
● Recruit, mentor, and evaluate staff to ensure a high-performing team.
● Provide professional development opportunities to enhance staff skills and expertise.
● Ensure effective annual performance evaluations for all leadership and staff members.
Governance, Communications, and Board Support:
● Work with the President of the Board to plan and convene monthly meetings of the Pine Haven Board of Directors.
● Communicate all major decisions (including but not limited to hiring and termination of staff and significant disciplinary actions) and events at the Center to the President, who will relay the information to the Board as appropriate.
● Collaborate with the Board of Directors to provide guidance and support for effective governance and to foster strong relationships, ensuring organizational goals are met.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree (Master's degree preferred) in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field. A background in Special Education or Behavioral Sciences is preferred.
● Proven leadership experience in an educational or therapeutic setting, preferably within a residential treatment facility environment.
● Strong understanding of child development, trauma-informed care, and therapeutic interventions for young boys.
● Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
● Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and build strong partnerships.
● Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team towards achieving common goals.
● Experience with budgeting, financial planning, and resource allocation
● A commitment to ethical conduct, transparency, and accountability.
● The ability to work flexible hours and travel, including nights and weekends, as needed.
● The position of Executive Director is a full-time and on-site position.
● Successful employment will require references, as well as a criminal background check.
