Salary range: $21.19 - $32.85/hr based on experience
About the Role
We are seeking a qualified Medical Assistant II to join a Family Medicine team in an outpatient healthcare setting. The candidate will support physicians and clinical staff by performing routine clinical and administrative duties, ensuring smooth patient care and daily clinic operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and check in patients and notify the appropriate healthcare provider.
- Prepare patients, examination rooms, and equipment for medical procedures.
- Measure and record patient vital signs and report concerns to providers.
- Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and treatments.
- Recognize emergency situations and prioritize patients requiring immediate attention.
- Handle patient calls, schedule appointments, and coordinate procedures.
- Register new patients and maintain accurate medical records.
- Assist patients with insurance forms, billing, and other documentation.
- Provide instructions to patients regarding preparation for medical procedures.
- Collect, process, and handle routine laboratory specimens.
- Perform blood draws, injections, and simple diagnostic tests as authorized.
- Maintain clinical equipment and examination rooms.
- Follow aseptic techniques, sterilization, disinfection, and infection-control procedures.
- Clean, wrap, and autoclave medical instruments.
- Maintain adequate supplies and ensure equipment is ready for use.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
- Must hold one of the following credentials:

- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through AAMA.
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through AMT.
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), along with completion of a 12-month D-H apprenticeship program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Must be able to provide documentation of required certifications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in an office-based or outpatient ambulatory care setting.
- Experience in Family Medicine or primary care is an advantage.
- Strong patient care and communication skills.
