Bachelor's or Master's degree in School Psychology, active School Psychologist license and minimum 1+ years School Psychologist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time 1:1 Paraprofessional position is available to support a student in a Life Skills classroom at a high school in Amherst, MA. This role focuses on providing direct assistance to a VSA student with various daily activities, ensuring safety, engagement, and effective communication throughout the school day. The contract extends through the current school year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support including toileting, diapering, and hand-over-hand assistance during meals, academics, and daily routines
- Escort the student safely to and from the nurses office as needed
- Facilitate student engagement and safety throughout the school day
- Communicate effectively with staff and family members, with bilingual Spanish-speaking candidates preferred to enhance communication with the family
- Collaborate with the educational team to foster a positive, supportive learning environment
Qualifications and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required, plus at least one of the following: associates degree, minimum 48 college credits, or passing score on ParaPro or WorkKeys assessments
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional in a school setting is required
- Comfort and experience with personal care tasks such as toileting and diapering
- Bilingual Spanish skills preferred but not mandatory
- Ability to pass a drug screen and background check (CORI fingerprinting required)
- Reliable transportation and punctuality essential
Schedule and Location:
- Full-time, approximately 35-37.5 hours per week
- Monday through Friday, 7:15 AM to 3:10 PM
- Contract through June 25, 2026
- Location: High school in Amherst, MA
