Ideal candidates will have:
- Valid credentials and licensure to teach Special Education in Vermont
- Previous experience working in elementary or early childhood special education settings
- Strong understanding of IEPs, differentiated instruction, and evidence-based interventions
- Ability to foster positive relationships with students, families, and fellow educators
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to be onsite, supporting a welcoming and empowering classroom environment
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing individualized lesson plans tailored to student needs
- Collaborating with classroom teachers and support staff to ensure full integration of services
- Managing and reviewing IEPs, progress monitoring, and maintaining detailed documentation
- Providing direct instruction and accommodations that enable student growth and achievement
- Engaging families in the educational process and maintaining open lines of communication
- Participating in professional development to remain current on best practices in special education
