Step into an impactful role supporting the educational journey of a 5th-grade student in need of specially designed instruction as a Special Education Teacher. This contract opportunity is virtual, enabling you to make a difference from any location while working closely with a student awaiting an out-of-district placement. This position is estimated to last a couple of weeks to one month, with some flexibility based on the district’s timeline.
You will deliver individualized, 1:1 services for two hours per week, providing direct instruction tailored to the student’s needs. The schedule offers flexibility and can be adapted to fit your availability as well as the student’s and other providers’ schedules. In addition to direct teaching time, you’ll also receive indirect time to support lesson planning and documentation, ensuring effective and meaningful student progress.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teaching certification
- Experience working 1:1 with students in a virtual setting preferred
- Strong understanding of creating and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Ability to adapt instruction and materials to fit unique learning needs
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Flexibility to coordinate with families and other service providers
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering effective, engaging, and personalized instruction to support the student
- Collaborating with other professionals to align services and interventions
- Documenting student progress and maintaining records
- Adjusting instruction as needed to maximize student growth
- Preparing lesson materials and adapting resources for virtual delivery
