Elevate your career as a Special Education Teacher by supporting student success in Vermont. We're seeking three dynamic educators to fill contract positions for the upcoming school year. These roles are based within a forward-thinking district, offering diverse opportunities for professional growth and meaningful impact.
Positions span both high school and elementary levels. Two teachers will help launch an innovative pilot program at the high school level, working closely with students presenting executive function challenges, Autism, and severe behavioral needs. The program is centered on developing real-world employment and life skills, with some students attending tech center courses. Flexibility, creativity, and a passion for student-centered approaches are essential for these inaugural roles.
The third opening is at the elementary level, joining a collaborative team of four teachers. This position focuses on students with learning disabilities in reading, writing, and math, as well as those on the high-functioning end of the Autism spectrum. Support from PT/OT professionals provides a well-rounded, multidisciplinary environment for student achievement.
Desired Qualifications:
- Vermont Professional Teaching License
- Endorsement as Special Educator, Special Education Consulting Teacher, OR Intensive Special Education Teacher
- Experience with Autism, executive function disorders, and significant behavioral challenges (for high school roles)
- Background supporting learning disabilities and high-functioning Autism (for elementary role)
- Innovative mindset and adaptable teaching style
- Team-oriented with strong collaboration skills
- Must have or be able to provide recent, approved fingerprint results
Key Role Details:
- Contract: August 19, 2026 – June 14, 2027
- Full-time, onsite: 35 hours per week
- High school: Caseloads focused on real-world skill building
- Elementary: Academic support within an integrated team
