Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Located in Portsmouth, NH, this contract opportunity offers a dynamic role as a Special Education Teacher at the middle school level. The position focuses on providing specially designed instruction in a resource room setting, working closely with students both one-on-one and in small groups, as well as supporting them within their general education classrooms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction to students with special needs in small group and individual settings.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to support students success throughout the school day.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Monitor and document student progress.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Attend meetings related to student progress and needs.
Qualifications:
- Active New Hampshire Special Education Certification is required.
- Experience working in special education, preferably in a middle school or resource room setting.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to adapt instruction based on diverse student needs.
Schedule and Location:
- Position is based at a middle school in Portsmouth, NH.
- School year contract with variable duration; could span a few months or the remainder of the school year.
- Work hours are 7:30 a.m. to 2:25 p.m.
