Grounds staff play a key role in maintaining the quality and appearance of the course and surrounding facilities, contributing directly to member satisfaction and day-to-day operations.

Role Description The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the golf course and surrounding grounds, including mowing greens, fairways, and roughs; trimming trees and shrubs; raking bunkers; and maintaining landscaping beds. Daily tasks include operating lawn and turf equipment, performing basic irrigation checks, and keeping paths, practice areas, and common spaces clean and safe. The role also involves routine equipment care such as cleaning tools, checking fluid levels, and reporting maintenance needs, as well as supporting seasonal projects like aeration, over-seeding. The Groundskeeper collaborates with the course superintendent and grounds team to meet quality standards and may occasionally assist with setup for club events.

Qualifications

- Experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or turf maintenance, preferably in a golf course, sports facility, or similar outdoor environment.
- Ability to safely operate and care for grounds equipment and tools (e.g., mowers, trimmers, blowers, utility vehicles) and follow established safety procedures.
- Basic understanding of lawn care and horticulture practices, including mowing techniques, watering, fertilizing, and seasonal maintenance.
- Physical ability to perform manual outdoor work for extended periods, including lifting, bending, walking, and working in varying weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and time management skills, with the ability to follow instructions and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach when working with supervisors, team members, and other club staff.
- Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed during peak season; flexible schedule availability is beneficial.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; prior experience in golf course maintenance or sports turf management is an advantage.
