Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
We are seeking dedicated Special Education Teachers to support students in grades 6-12 within Life Skills classrooms. This full-time role, based in the Derry area of New Hampshire, offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on learners with diverse needs in a supportive school environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to students in middle school (6th-8th grades) and high school (9th-12th grades) Life Skills classrooms.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including counselors, therapists, and parents to support student progress.
- Monitor student achievement and adjust instructional strategies to meet individual learning goals.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student growth and independence.
- Maintain detailed records of student performance and behavior consistent with school policies.
Qualifications:
- Certification in Special Education.
- Experience working with students in Life Skills classrooms, particularly at the middle and/or high school levels.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with educators, families, and support staff.
- Patience, creativity, and commitment to providing high-quality educational experiences for all students.
Location: Derry, NH area
This position is a full-time contract with an expected workload of 37.5 hours per week. Candidates can express interest in either the middle school or high school Life Skills classroom based on their experience and preference.
