Radius ECS is a distinguished leader in low voltage technology solutions, offering services including structured cabling, security, access control, CCTV, audio/visual, and more. We are currently seeking a seasoned Low Voltage Lead Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in low voltage systems, proven project leadership skills, and a commitment to quality and safety. This role involves installation, maintenance, and management of low voltage systems across commercial and industrial environments.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Perform pre-termination tasks such as organizing, dressing, forming, labeling cables, and determining proper length and slack.
- Properly suspend and support cable using trays, J-hooks, D-rings, bridal rings, and trapeze systems.
- Terminate low-voltage devices and install grounding for racks, equipment, and cabling.
- Complete fire-stopping procedures and pull cable through sleeves and penetrations.
- Conduct diagnostics, testing, and troubleshooting of systems.
- Maintain detailed documentation of installations, configurations, and changes.
- Prepare technical reports for management and clients.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to meet specifications.
- Perform final inspections to ensure systems meet quality standards.
- Accurately complete all required RECS paperwork.
- Follow all safety and quality regulations.
- Run and connect wiring using blueprints and schematics.
- Organize and label wiring for future reference.
- Provide client training post-installation.
- Use tools safely and perform routine maintenance.
- Maintain regular attendance at office and job sites.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in low voltage technology and project leadership
- Minimum of 3 years in low voltage cabling and closet buildouts
- 1+ year of leadership experience preferred
- BICSI certification is a plus
- Experience in commercial and industrial environments preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work on ladders or lifts at heights
- Ability to distinguish colors
- Ability to stand and perform overhead work for extended periods
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company driving standards
