Job Description

This role offers the opportunity to work as a carpenter on a landmark, multi-year commercial construction project in Londonderry, NH. The project, valued at approximately $220 million, includes six separate buildings featuring a mix of multi-family residences, a clubhouse, retail spaces, and other commercial areas. Carpenters will perform full frame-to-finish work, including detailed interior and exterior carpentry, contributing to one of the top projects in the Northeast through at least 2028.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive carpentry work from framing through finish on a large-scale commercial construction project.
  • Install doors, door hardware, and handles with precise alignment and secure fastening.
  • Build and install decks, railings, and other structural and architectural elements according to project specifications.
  • Execute rough carpentry tasks such as framing walls, floors, roofs, and other structural components.
  • Carry out finish carpentry work, including trim, casing, and detailed woodwork in residential and commercial spaces.
  • Read and interpret construction plans and drawings to complete carpentry tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Work collaboratively with other carpenters and trades on-site to maintain project schedules and quality standards.
  • Follow all site safety protocols and use tools and equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to support productivity and safety.
  • Adapt to changing project needs across multiple buildings, including multi-family, clubhouse, and retail environments.

Essential Skills

  • Demonstrated carpentry skills covering frame-to-finish work.
  • Proficiency in framing, including walls, floors, and roof structures.
  • Experience in finish carpentry, such as trim, doors, and detailed interior woodwork.
  • Strong rough carpentry capabilities for commercial construction projects.
  • Ability to install doors, door hardware, handles, decks, and railings with high quality and precision.
  • Ability to read and work from construction plans and specifications.
  • Commitment to working safely on active construction sites.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience on large, multi-building construction projects.
  • Comfort working on mixed-use sites that include multi-family, clubhouse, and retail spaces.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a large carpentry team.
  • Willingness to take on a variety of carpentry tasks as project needs evolve.

Work Environment

Carpenters work with standard construction tools and equipment in a commercial construction environment, performing both rough and finish carpentry tasks. The setting is fast-paced and collaborative, with a sizable team of carpenters on-site. Work is conducted outdoors and indoors depending on project phase, and appropriate construction attire and safety gear are required in accordance with site safety standards.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Londonderry, NH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
