Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A healthcare professional with expertise in school nursing is needed for a contract position supporting a medically fragile student. This role involves providing one-on-one nursing care during transportation and the school day, assisting a student in a special education van. The workweek is Monday through Friday, beginning early in the morning and concluding mid-afternoon.
Location:
- Based in Cambridge, MA with transportation from Billerica, MA to Lexington, MA.
- Service provided within a middle school setting and out-of-district campus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 nursing care as an RN or LPN to a medically fragile student.
- Assist the student in preparing for transportation between home and school.
- Monitor and manage the students medical needs during transit and school hours.
- Float to various nursing roles throughout the school district as needed.
- Collaborate with the nursing team on the out-of-district campus.
Desired Qualifications:
- Licensed RN or LPN with experience in school nursing.
- Familiarity with medically fragile pediatric patients and special education settings.
- Ability to handle early morning schedules and transportation-related duties.
- Strong communication skills for working with school staff, families, and healthcare providers.
- Flexibility to support various nursing assignments within the district.
Contract Duration and Schedule:
- Contract runs from ASAP through June 2026.
- Monday to Friday, roughly 7:00-7:30 AM start, finishing around 2:00 PM.
