Our Farm Truck services Downtown and Sconset and so this positions works primarily independently and off-site. This coveted position is really fun and highly sought after. The schedule requires a 6 day workweek from Monday-Saturday 6am to about 2:30pm daily, but your afternoons are free! Must have a US Driver's license to drive the Farm truck on alternating days to Town and Sconset.
Primary Responsibilities:
1) Arrives early in morning to load up the Farm truck with available produce and flowers for sale at one of our locations. Ensures truck is properly stocked with all items necessary to do business, including but not limited to fresh vegetables and flowers, coolers, signage, cash drawers, display crates, scales etc. Ensures truck is on Main Street or ?Sconset and ready for sales no later than 9am each morning Monday through Saturday.
2) Provides courteous and attentive service to customers by answering questions, processing sales, and directing them to products. Stays knowledgeable about produce and flowers available. Ensures the highest level of service, environment, and quality product is provided. Builds customer relationships and ensures a positive experience for every visitor to the Truck.
3) Communicates efficiently with retail, market and Farm Grown vegetable departments to provide feedback, ensure product is available, and procedures are being followed.
4) Processes customer purchases efficiently and accurately. Handles all types of regular point of sale (POS) transactions including cash, check, credit cards, gift certificates and mixed tender. Maintains drawer accuracy.
5) Responsible for keeping truck areas clean and orderly. Assists in keeping the retail facilities clean and organized.
6) Closes Farm Truck at 1pm daily, packs up remaining produce and unloads produce back at the farm store. Processes daily sales in POS system and turns in cash upon return.
Position Requirements:
Previous cashier and/or customer service experience, preferred. Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal, mathematical, and organizational skills. Must possess strong work ethic, ability to work independently and a valid driver's license. Requires an ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 30lbs of produce on a regular basis.
