Step into an impactful role supporting students’ individual growth as a Special Education professional working with 5th and 6th graders in a dedicated Life Skills/Intensive Needs program. This full-time position offers the opportunity to make meaningful contributions in a small, focused classroom setting. You will work contractually from now until June 2027, partnering with a committed school team in the Manchester area.
Your expertise will help shape individualized education plans and serve as a critical advocate for just three students, ensuring a highly personalized environment to foster both academic and personal development. The schedule is Monday through Friday, totaling 35-37.5 hours per week, and offers you the satisfaction of directly partnering with students and their families throughout the school year.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current certification in Special Education or eligibility to obtain state licensure
- Previous experience with life skills or intensive needs students is highly valued
- Proficiency in managing IEPs, progress reporting, and data-driven instruction
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Compassion, patience, and a collaborative spirit essential for team-based work
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized academic and daily living instruction for a caseload of three students at the 5th/6th grade level
- Lead case management, including IEP development, implementation, and regular communication with families
- Collaborate closely with educational assistants, therapists, and other specialists
- Track student progress and adjust teaching strategies for optimal growth
- Create a supportive, consistent classroom atmosphere that nurtures confidence and independence
