Make an impact supporting young learners with diverse needs as a full-time Special Education Teacher. This school-based contract role begins as soon as possible and continues through June 17th, 2027. As a valued educator, you'll work Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., in a dynamic and collaborative environment focused on elementary-aged children in a “regular” special education classroom.

You'll manage a caseload of approximately 15 to 20 third and fourth-grade students, delivering tailored instruction that inspires growth and confidence without intensive behavioral or medical support requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Active Vermont teaching certification or license in Special Education (required)
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students, especially grades 3-4
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Collaborative spirit and excellent communication abilities
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction to meet each student’s unique learning goals
  • Manage, monitor, and update IEPs in compliance with regulatory standards
  • Collaborate with general education staff, support staff, and families to ensure student success
  • Track progress and adjust teaching strategies based on data and student response
  • Maintain open, professional communication with parents and school colleagues
  • Participate in IEP meetings and teacher professional development sessions
