Key Qualifications:
- Active and valid Occupational Therapist license is required
- Previous experience in an elementary school or pediatric setting is highly preferred
- Ability to write and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Skilled at conducting student evaluations and completing Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team (MET) reports
- Effective communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct therapy services to elementary students, focusing on developing fine motor, sensory, and functional skills needed for classroom success
- Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to determine student needs and strengths
- Develop, write, and update IEPs in partnership with teachers, parents, and other specialists
- Complete comprehensive MET reports as part of the student evaluation process
- Consult and collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate occupational therapy strategies into the classroom environment
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress notes, and compliance with school and regulatory guidelines
