Step into a rewarding contract role as a Special Education Teacher, making an impact in vibrant school communities throughout the Barre, VT area. Onsite engagements are available for three dedicated Special Educators: two positions for elementary levels and one focused on early childhood special education. Each role will support students with diverse learning needs, fostering an engaging, inclusive environment and ensuring every learner has the opportunity to thrive.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching Certification (appropriate for Vermont, or eligibility for reciprocal licensure)
- Experience working as a Special Education Teacher, ideally in elementary or early childhood settings
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to adapt curriculum and instructional methods according to individual student needs
What You’ll Do:
- Provide individualized instruction and support to elementary or early childhood students with varying abilities
- Develop lesson plans tailored to meet students’ specific educational goals outlined in their IEPs
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, related service providers, and families to maximize student growth
- Foster a safe, nurturing, and respectful classroom environment
- Participate actively in IEP meetings, assessments, and school-related events
