Job Description

The SV Design Narrative: Build Something That Lasts

SV Design is a place for Legacy Builders. We are made up of professionals who are looking to grow, stay, and build a career. We focus on hiring people who see their work as a long-term contribution to our firm, our communities, and the next generation of design talent. As a 50-person firm, we offer a rare "magic trick": the high-caliber project diversity of a large practice combined with the ego-free, collaborative feel of a small studio. We are locally rooted, relationship-driven, and focused on the craft of "doing the work" rather than the noise surrounding it. If you value ownership, proximity to leadership, and a community where you belong rather than just a place where you work, SV Design is your next chapter.

Job Summary

We are seeking a personable, motivated, and highly organized Project Manager to join our team. In this role, you are the heartbeat of the project, serving as the primary liaison for clients and taking full responsibility for quality, coordination, and team management. You are managing a schedule, mentoring the next generation of designers, and ensuring that our award-winning design translates perfectly into the built environment.

What You'll Do

  • Project Leadership: Lead multiple projects through all phases, from initial concept to construction completion.
  • Client & Consultant Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and consultants, ensuring fully integrated and coordinated project documentation.
  • Technical Oversight: Oversee Revit-based (commercial) or AutoCAD-based (residential) design development. You will review architectural details for technical accuracy and constructability.
  • Construction Administration: Participate in site visits, manage RFIs/submittals, and serve as the owner's representative during construction.
  • Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior staff (AD1/AD2 levels), fostering an environment of technical excellence and constant learning.
  • Quality & Budget Control: Monitor project schedules, budgets, and compliance with building codes and zoning standards.

Capabilities

  • Solution-Oriented Leadership: You don't just identify problems; you navigate complex teams toward a resolution with a calm, professional demeanor.
  • Ego-Free Mentorship: You take pride in "elevating the room," sharing your technical knowledge generously with junior staff rather than gatekeeping.
  • High-Stakes Relationship Management: You build deep trust with repeat clients and contractors through transparency and follow-through.
  • Stability & Vision: You are looking to anchor your career in a firm where you can influence the long-term standards and culture of the studio.

What You'll Have

  • Experience: 8–12 years of professional architecture experience.
    • Commercial/Multi-family focus: Deep knowledge of Revit is required.
    • Residential focus: Strong understanding of unique residential construction methods and AutoCAD proficiency.
  • Education: Professional degree from a U.S. accredited architecture program; Licensure preferred.
  • Technical Foundation: Proven expertise in building detailing, construction documentation, and navigating complex zoning/building codes.
  • Availability: Full-time, in-office position based in Beverly, MA (Core hours 9 AM – 3 PM).
  • Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Even if you don't have the exact experience, we are always looking for talented people. If you believe you can contribute to our team, we invite you to apply. We appreciate diversity and welcome those who can bring fresh perspectives and skills to our team.

What you can expect in our process:

  1. Phone, 30-min, HR interview: TalentTrack
  2. In-person, 60-min, Portfolio Review: with Principal and Project Manager.

Virtual, 30-min, Culture: Reverse interview with Partner
