A rewarding opportunity is available for a registered nurse specializing in emergency care to provide critical support in a dynamic Emergency Department. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver patient care in a high-acuity Emergency Department with a focus on trauma, stroke care, laceration repair, orthopedic trauma, psychiatric care, and cardiopulmonary management.
- Perform specialized procedures including ultrasound-guided IV insertion, IO insertion, EKG interpretation, eye exams, and more.
- Utilize advanced equipment such as Lucas Device, Hotline Rapid Infuser, Alaris pumps, and Pyxis, documenting care in Sunrise/Allscripts EMR.
- Operate independently following established protocols to order labs, x-rays, medications, and diagnostic tests based on chief complaints.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to manage patients with complex conditions including cardiac complications, diabetic ketoacidosis, sepsis, and trauma.
- Maintain stringent safety protocols including dress code compliance and unit guidelines adherence.
- Work scheduled shifts including every other weekend on a rotating basis.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience for contract positions.
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications (mandatory).
- Strong critical thinking capability and excellent communication skills.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred: proficiency with EKG interpretation and additional certifications such as MOAB.
